…was founded in the year 2001, with the aim of exploring the early musical and poetical repertoire of Italian Duecento, adventuring in a mainly unexplored field of interaction between poetry and its musical attire. The historical field of research soon expanded to include a wider spectrum of repertoire, including the whole of the late Middle Ages. The musicians come from different fields, but have in common a specialization on the field of medieval music – careful academic research about the repertoire as well as the instruments and the performance practice give a stable theoretical background to the lively concerts.
